ChargeUK is the new voice of the EV charging industry

Members of ChargeUK have announced they will invest over £6 billion installing and operating new EV charging infrastructure by 2030. They will install tens of thousands of new chargers this year, with the aim of doubling the size of the network through 2023.

New Accessible EV charging oasis opens

The chargers at this rapid charging hub consist of four rapid 50kW chargers and a 150kW ultra rapid charger for public use. DCC are intending to gradually introduce more 150kW chargers around the city in the future. There are also solar panels fixed to canopies which are positioned overhead and provide power to battery units on site which store this energy.

How long does it take a battery to degrade?

Anecdotal feedback shows there is a lot of misinformation among the general public about used car electric vehicle (EV) batteries and how quickly they degrade. It’s an important subject for the future of the used car market. If someone is considering buying an EV for the first time, they are likely to be put off if they hugely overestimate the speed at which electric cars lose range.


Home-charging is major barrier to EV adoption

Study, which interviewed close to 4000 drivers who park on the street around the UK, revealed that 39% of drivers UK-wide, and 54% of drivers in London, would switch to an EV if they didn’t have to rely exclusively on public charging facilities. However, it is estimated that a third of UK drivers don’t have access to off-street or private parking facilities.  


IVECO unveiled its new eDaily

New odel pioneers a modular battery concept with customers able to specify their vehicle with one, two, or three 37kWh units. This allows operators to tailor their eDaily to its specific mission, balancing range with payload and journey patterns. Should the vehicle’s role change or subsequent owners need a different specification, IVECO dealers can add or remove batteries in as little as two hours.
