Members of ChargeUK have announced they will invest over £6 billion installing and operating new EV charging infrastructure by 2030. They will install tens of thousands of new chargers this year, with the aim of doubling the size of the network through 2023.

The chargers at this rapid charging hub consist of four rapid 50kW chargers and a 150kW ultra rapid charger for public use. Anecdotal feedback shows there is a lot of misinformation among the general public about used car electric vehicle (EV) batteries and how quickly they degrade. If someone is considering buying an EV for the first time, they are likely to be put off if they hugely overestimate the speed at which electric cars lose range.
Study, which interviewed close to 4000 drivers who park on the street around the UK, revealed that 39% of drivers UK-wide, and 54% of drivers in London, would switch to an EV if they didn’t have to rely exclusively on public charging facilities. However, it is estimated that a third of UK drivers don’t have access to off-street or private parking facilities.
