CO2 saving is the equivalent to the emissions of more than 111,000 passenger flights from London to Sydney. A stack of thousand CO2 tonne spheres with a 5×5 base would stretch half a mile high – 8.4 x the height of Big Ben – and be equivalent to filling 42,749 Olympic swimming pools.
Modular, scaleable SOA will be produced in two versions, dubbed Premium and Commercial, and accommodate vehicles between 4.9 and six metres in length and wheelbases from three to 3.8 metres. The more compact battery packs are placed under the floor with capacities from 73kWh to 120kWh, taking range between charges up to 500km.
Highlighting the transition away from fossil fuel, LEVC’s TX taxi now represents more than 40% of official black cabs, with over 6,000 vehicles operating in the capital. As sales continue to increase, so does the positive contribution LEVC’s TX is making to air quality.
The additions include 60 new electric-driven VN5 vans from LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company): an award-winning electric van model with an onboard range extender. These vehicles join 10 LEVC VN5 vans which are already on the roads. Also joining the fleet are 43 fully electric small vans, which will complement the 33 Vivaro electric vans already driven by Anglian Water staff.
