Vauxhall opens order for new electric estate

The Sports Tourer Electric features a fully electric powertrain powered by a new, more efficient and quieter 115kW (156hp) electric motor producing 270Nm of torque, and a 54kWh battery.  A heat pump and a focus on efficiency enables the car to achieve 4.2 miles per kWh (WLTP), resulting in a WLTP-certified range of 256 miles.

VAUXHALL has opened orders for the All-New Astra Sports Tourer Electric, the first fully electric estate car from the brand. Prices start from £39,995 OTR, with first deliveries from the second quarter of 2024.

With the arrival of the All-New Astra Sports Tourer Electric, Vauxhall now offers six fully electric passenger vehicles and will offer a fully electric version of every model from 2024. Already available with efficient petrol engines and advanced Plug-in Hybrid powertrains, the All-New Astra Sports Tourer Electric extends the powertrain offer for buyers.

It features Vauxhall’s new design language and its ‘Vizor’ front end, which houses the latest driver aids and safety systems, the Griffin logo and the brand’s class-leading Intelli-Lux LED Pixel Light technology (available on Ultimate models). Meanwhile, the Vauxhall ‘Compass’ design principle ensures the All-New Astra Sports Tourer Electric looks balanced from every angle.

All models come as standard with aerodynamic 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with a specific eco tyre size (215/45R18 A+), contributing to the All-New Astra Sports Tourer Electric’s impressive efficiency.

The 54kWh battery is integrated into the chassis below the front and rear seats, resulting in a 31% increase in torsional stiffness compared to a petrol Astra Sports Tourer. Combined with a new rear axle design, the increased stiffness also brings improved handling, while a focus on reducing weight means the car weighs only 68kg more than the Plug-in Hybrid version.

Drivers can choose between three driving modes; Eco, Normal, and Sport, and range can be preserved by activating ‘B’ mode via a button on the gear selector to increase the level of regenerative braking.

As with the rest of the fully electric Vauxhall range, the All-New Astra Sports Tourer Electric supports 100kW DC rapid charging, with a 20%-80% charge taking just 26 minutes to complete. All Astra Sports Tourer Electric models come standard with a three-phase 11kW AC onboard charger, enabling a 0-100% charge in 5 hours 45 minutes, or 8 hours from a 7kW home wallbox.
